Winso Bykart was a Human male Jedi Knight who served the Old Jedi Order during the final period of the Galactic Republic. Expert in survival techniques, Winso became a pilot and would often take Master and Padawan pairs to the planet Ragoon VI for a traditional field exercise to strengthen their connection to the Force. This exercise would involve where Bykart would go into hiding and the pair would try to track him down for ten days on the planet.
Born in the final years of the Republic, Winso, like most Jedi, was discovered with a sensitive connection to the Force. He was brought to the Jedi Temple on Coruscant, and integrated into the Jedi Order where he would the ways of the Force. After a few years of training, Bykart was selected as a Padawan by a Jedi Master. Bykart learned everything from his master, and completed his trials, reaching the the level of Jedi Knight of the Jedi Order.
As a Knight of the Jedi Order, Winso became a Jedi Guardian and used his skills as a pilot, making him a Jedi Ace. Winso would sometimes take a Master and Padawan to the planet Ragoon VI for traditional training. There, the aim of the young padawan was to track down Bykart within ten days on the planet. In 32 BBY, Winso agreed to open up a traditional field exercise on Ragoon VI for Obi-Wan Kenobi and his mentor Qui-Gon Jinn. Five years later, Kenobi would later reflect on his time on Ragoon VI with Bykart while on a trip to the planet with his own learner, Anakin Skywalker.
Winso continued his career as a pilot and would take Master and Padawan pairs to Ragoon VI during the time of the Separatist Crisis. In 22 BBY, Winso accompanied Mace Windu on a rescue mission to save Jedi Obi-Wan Kenobi, Anakin Skywalker, and Senator Padmé Amidala of Naboo from execution by the Confederacy of Independent Systems. Part of a task force of 200 Jedi, Winso and the Jedi landed on the plains of Geonosis and stormed into the stadium of the Petranaki Arena before the Confederacy that had their chance to execute Kenobi, Skywalker, and Amidala. Leaping down into the arena, Gon fought valiantly against the Separatist Droid Army, but was overwhelmed by blaster fire and killed.
