The Netherworld of the Force was the place the souls of every being and creature went after their physical bodies died.
History[]
In 32 BBY, Jedi Master Qui-Gon Jinn went to the never-ending realm after he was killed by Darth Maul, but, thanks to the help of the Force Priestesses, he managed to return from it back to the physical universe as a Force Spirit. At the time when he entered the realm where he reunited with Tahl, who had begun her training on how to return to the physical plane as a spirit of the Force as well.
In 4 ABY, Anakin Skywalker, who had just returned to the light side after sacrificing his life to save his son Luke from being killed by the Sith Lord Darth Sidious onboard the second Death Star, learned the technique from Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi on how to return to physical plane as a spirit of the Force. However, before returning to the physical plane, he has reunited with his wife, Padmé Amidala, his mother, Shimi, along with Beru and Owen Lars.
