Michael Tandre was a Human male geologist and Jedi Knight who served the Old Jedi Order. After crashing his ship, the Alpha Kentrum, on the planet Orellon II, he made first contact with the planet's indigenous people. He became their spiritual leader, teaching the principles of Sword, Plow, and Spirit. He even created a series of computer programs which carried on his teachings long after his death. His followers called themselves the Holy Order of the Je'ulajists, based on a mispronunciation of "geologist". The people of Orellon II were later known as the Kentra. They kept his lightsaber as a holy relic, called the "Sword of Honor", though its power source was long since drained.
A Human male, Michael was brought to the Jedi Temple on Coruscant where he trained in the ways of the Force, Michael Tandre passed through the Temple Academy and was elevated to the rank of Jedi Knight after completing his Trials of Knighthood. Selecting the teachings of the Jedi Consular to continue his journey down the Jedi Path, Tandre elected to pursue independent studies as a Jedi Researcher. Joining the Agricultural Corps as a geologist, Tandre worked with the Council of Agricultural Corps Masters and accepted missions as assigned to him.
Assigned to journey to the planet Orellon II and make contact with the indigenous tribes there, Tandre piloted the Alpha Kentrum to the world, but lost control of the ship and crash-landed on the surface. Surviving the crash, Tandre encountered the tribes he was searching for and was welcomed into their society. After ascending to the position of spiritual leader, Tandre accepted that he was stranded indefinitely and began to teach the natives the principles of Sword, Plow, and Spirit; a simplified version of Jedi principles. Crafting a series of computer programs from the Kentrum's wreckage, he hoped to preserve his message should he die or be rescued. His followers, calling themselves the Holy Order of the Je'ulajists, based on a mispronunciation of "geologist", tended to their spiritual guide throughout the rest of his life.
While rescue never came for Tandre, the man remained true to his Jedi virtues and lived the rest of his days in peace. His followers eventually evolved into a group called the Kentra, preserving his powerless lightsaber as a holy relic called the "Sword of Honor".
