Dazen Mok was a a male Zabrak Jedi Knight who served the Jedi Order and the Galactic Republic during the years leading up to the Clone Wars. Voluntarily retiring from the Order, Mok began a long journey exploring the Cularin system and its unusual events.
A Force-sensitive male Zabrak from the world of Iridonia, Dazen Mok received formal training in the ways of the Force at the Jedi Order's experimental academy on the planet Almas. Ascending to the rank of Jedi Knight, Mok undertook a soul-searching exercise which revealed that he should abandon the Order and explore the Cularin system and studies its vast mysteries. Undertaking this mission, Mok left the Academy and spent many years investigating the disappearance of the Nub Saar in orbit around Genarius.
His findings drew him to a wild theory that Nub Saar was destroyed by a manifestation of dark side energies. These powers were in turn thought to have been created by Karae Nalvas, who had built the floating fortress known as Conkesta around Genarius. When Nalvas' fortress was destroyed, the energy returned to Genarius' core. His ideas were met with strong opposition from the citizens of Cularin and their officials. Years later, the dark side was reawakened during the construction of Nub Saar, ending in its total annihilation.
In 19 BBY, the final year of the Clone Wars between the Galactic Republic and the Confederacy of Independent Systems, the Dark Jedi Garth Ezzar led an attack on the Almas Academy. Dazen defended the academy with his life and was one of those that were slain in the massacre.
